It’s Not Jack Black

Michelle posted this to the Promtacular! Facebook page without comment. I replied and told her that I needed to start a new category for “Mustaches.” Because mustaches at prom deserve their own recognition. Michelle replied saying, “I love that idea! We ended up married a few years later and now our teenage son and his friends love to point out that my husband looks like Jack Black in this pic.”
And, well, he does. But what I love most is that he looks like he’s taking his mustache VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. As though it makes him a non-high-school student. He is ABOVE it. Because he is SOPHISTICATED. Obviously.
Michelle looks lovely. Although it took me a few moments to realize all that crazy bow/flower/ribbon action isn’t part of her dress, it’s her wrist corsage. Her giant, cabbage-sized corsage. I think that just means her not-actually-Jack-Black date really loved her.
Right?
More even than him looking like Jack Black, she looks like Phoebe Cates.
