Caitie writes: “My group that I attended Prom with went to Thai food for dinner before we went to the dance ( Mistake #1) and when we got there my dress was too puffy and stiff at the same time, I could barely sit down (Mistake #2). As we left the restaurant, we saw our teacher (who was on the way to the dance to help out?) And for some reason we thought it would be a fantastic idea to take pictures with her. This picture actually ended up going in the yearbook. Can I also remark on the disaster my hair is?”
Oh, Caitie, I adore this photo. I love pictures where everyone looks genuinely happy, for one thing. And you all qualify. But it’s even better because you’re all so happy about THAI FOOD! Well, and that’s not even it. You are thrilled about seeing a TEACHER! AT THAI FOOD!
Which, out of context, really makes no sense. But we all get it. And you’re all dolled up and trying not to spill curry on your crinoline and excited and then the teacher’s there and, well. So much pre-prom magic.
I don’t actually think your hair is a disaster…although it does look like maybe the four of you had your bangs call each other to discuss Variations On A Sweep.
But not only do the four of you look darling, even the teacher looks thrilled (if perhaps underdressed). (And by “perhaps” I mean “woefully.”) Your teacher has also probably since realized the dangers of wearing white underneath knit tops when photos are being taken with flash.
